The defect that depends on the lack of the bone should be ideally compensated with bone.

The defect depending on the lack of the suprabony component of the root should be compensated with soft tissues.

 

At the edentulous site you elevate split thickness a very, very wide papilla.

The incision must be made slightly to the buccal to achieve this wide papilla, in such a way that when you're placing the implant you will have soft tissue buccal to it (8'43'').

 

Split thickness till we reach the buccal bone, after that we elevate the flap full thickness.
