You should know that it's not just WASH YOUR HANDS! There is a magic word that absolutely annihilates the virus: SOAP!

 

Why is SOAP so effective and important?

Virus outer layer is made of proteins and fat, fat makes the virus sticky! As it's sticky when you wash with just water, water rushes right over the virus!

 

That fat outer layer makes the virus behave like an oil.

 

What happens if you try to mix oil with water?

Oil floats you can't get them mixed!

 

But if you add soap... it's magic... all of the sudden you get all that dissolved in the water!

 

SOAP MOLECULES have 2 ends, one that is attracted to water and the other end attracted to fat. When soap comes into contact with water and oil, it's able to dissolve the soap in the water.The water-end of the molecule literally pulls apart the virus-fat connected to the other end, destroying the virus.

It's very important to understand that for this breakage to take place you have to take time, at least 20 seconds!

 

Alcohol and sanitizers containing alcohol, work pretty much in the same way.

 

A high concentration of alcohol is needed, at least 60%.

But soap is way more effective, good old regular soap (skip antibacterial soap) is better than any alcohol. If your hands are dirty or sweaty soap is more effective than alcohol.
